To all the mothers and women who are living in Japan.

As a birth doula, I strongly advocate for mothers to have a family-centered birth and not be isolated during pregnancy and childbirth. I encourage women’s empowerment during this time and give individual support from prenatal until the beginning of postpartum. I am not a midwife, nurse or doctor, instead as a birth doula my main role is to provide emotional support and be at your side.

The critical transition period which has been missed is Matrescence. The time of mother-becoming...giving birth does not automatically make a mother out of a woman...the amount of time it takes to become a mother needs study. ”
